Collective Threads is a multimedia exhibition amplifying the defiance of Iranian-Australian women and men against gender apartheid, questioning whether persecution is bound by borders. Through socialist realism portraiture, large-scale paintings throne eleven Iranian citizens in constructs of power as a mantle of empowerment, inspired by Persian royal portraiture and 20th century propaganda aesthetics. Coinciding with Refugee Week, the exhibition includes testimonial video art, spoken-word poetry, and live performances, fostering cross-cultural dialogue on gender equality.

Reflecting on motherhood today with a full heart. Reflecting on motherhood today with a full heart. My thoughts are with anyone who finds this day difficult, whether due to loss, longing, or complex relationships. I’m deeply grateful to have my mum in my life and to have shared hugs with my beautiful kids this morning.

These two portraits, painted six years ago, hold a special place in my heart. I’ve kept them for our home. And one day, they’ll be part of what I leave behind.

Love you endlessly. ❤️❤️❤️
